32’ Mahogany Bar c. 19th century: shipped via clipper ship from England round the “horn”, to San Francisco, then onto Butte, Montana, then Death Valley and finally into Yellowstone. After decades in storage I was hired to reconstruct and rebuild, but with no photos, no drawings and no clue, yet many missing pieces, panels and embellishments, this project amounted to a massive and complex blind jigsaw puzzle. I left the dated graffiti and more than one bullet hole, but toned them down on the 2 matching 16’ mahogany bar slabs.
